How Does Factory Ordering Work? | Pinckney Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

A factory order is a vehicle built by the manufacturer to your exact specifications, shipped to Pinckney CDJR, and delivered to you.

The process is more straightforward than most people expect. Here is how it works from start to finish.

Step 1: Getting Started

Your Sales Consultant will start by asking a few questions to understand what you’re looking for. From there, you can use the build tool on the manufacturer’s website to explore all available models, trims, packages, and options. Your Sales Consultant will walk through it with you and help you narrow things down to the right configuration.

Step 2: Your Quote

Once you have a build in mind, your Sales Consultant will put together your Pinckney CDJR price. You will see exactly what you are paying, with no hidden fees or surprise charges. In some cases it takes a round or two of comparisons to land on the right build, and we are happy to work through that with you.

Step 3: Committing to the Order

When you are ready to move forward, the entire commitment process can be handled however works best for you. That includes signing paperwork, confirming your build specifications, and covering all required disclosures. We accept e-signatures and can work through the full deal remotely if that is your preference. A non-refundable deposit of $2,500 is required to place the order. This ensures your build is committed and reserved for you.

Step 4: Price Protection

Once your order is submitted, you are price protected. If the manufacturer raises MSRP before your vehicle is built, your agreed sale price does not change. At this point, all parties have committed to the vehicle’s price, specifications, and who it belongs to.

Step 5: Your Build Begins

When your order is accepted and production is scheduled, we will let you know. You and your Sales Consultant can both track the vehicle’s progress through the build process. Build times typically run between four and six months, though your Sales Consultant will give you the most current estimate based on the model and plant schedule at the time of your order.

Step 6: Your Vehicle Is Almost Here

When your vehicle reaches its final stop before Pinckney CDJR, your Sales Consultant will give you a call. At that point your vehicle is typically seven to ten days out. This is when we take care of a few things in advance of arrival. Your Sales Consultant will go over trade-in details and confirm your delivery preference. Your F&I Manager will also reach out to schedule a meeting to go over final paperwork, including financing, service contracts, and any other products you want to consider.

Step 7: Delivery

When your vehicle arrives at Pinckney CDJR, it goes through our delivery prep process. That includes a full inspection, activating features, fluids, and making sure everything is ready for you. If you are within 250 miles of Pinckney, your Sales Consultant will coordinate driving it directly to your door at no charge. If you are beyond that range, we will help you connect with a shipper and the transport cost falls on you. The same applies to any trade-in coming from outside that radius.
