That’s why we are taking this opportunity to prove our loyalty to our customers, and share with you key tire maintenance needs that your Jeep needs on a routine basis. To learn more about tire maintenance, you just have to keep reading below, and we’ll take care of the hard work for you.
Does the inflation level of my Jeep’s tires matter for maintenance?
Many people may not be aware of the many intricate ways in which your tires can be affected by things like tire pressure, and the Michigan weather that you are currently dealing with. Over- and under-inflation are both incredibly important to fix as soon as you are aware of these issues. Our team here at Pinckney Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is willing to assist you with this process, too! We can test the PSI of all four of your tires, and either add in or release air to make sure it matches the factory recommend PSI levels. You can do this for yourself, too, if you have a tire gauge, and want to stop by an air compressor. No matter what, keeping the PSI within the right limits is important to ensuring you don’t have to deal with other issues that could potentially arise such as blowouts, or uneven wearing.
How does a tire rotation help maintain tires?
Something that is immensely important with your Jeep’s tires is keeping the treads as consistent as possible across your tires. This is because when you have uneven wear throughout your tires, this could cause some of your tires to wear more quickly than others, resulting in you having to buy a new set of tires before you want to. When we perform a tire rotation, we are moving your tires to brand new positions so that the wear remains more consistent over time! If you have questions about this process, we hope you will reach out to us so we can explain how easy it is, but also how important it is in avoiding the need to buy new tires before you should. Our team is always excited to work with you, and we know that your Jeep deserves the best.
Can I check my tire tread depth?
Another vital part of your tires and checking their health is the depth of your tire tread. We’ve touched on this partially with our previous paragraphs, but this is an opportunity to really put tread depth into focus so you understand why our service technicians are so focused on providing you with the knowledge you need to make the right decisions for your life. The depth of your treads is what determines how good your traction is going to be. When you are driving a vehicle like a Jeep, traction becomes even more important, especially if you have a Wrangler or Gladiator model. That’s why we always recommend the penny test to our customers! You’ll get out a penny, find the most worn down part of your tire, put the penny in head down, and see if you can see the top of Lincoln’s head. If you can, then it could be time to discuss buying new tires with our service team.
