If you would like to schedule a service appointment to have one of our factory-trained technicians inspector your truck, please fill out the service appointment form.

8,000 Mile

Typically, you should have your Ram’s oil changed every 5,000-8,000 miles if you drive your truck moderately. However, if you use your truck under extreme conditions such as off-roading or heavy towing, you should have your oil changed every 3,000-5,000 miles. It is also a great time to have your tires rotated. You’ll know you’re due because you’ll see an orange box on your driver’s dashboard that reads “OIL CHANGE REQUIRED.” This will show a 15 percent oil life. If you see this indicator light, schedule service as soon as possible to avoid potential engine damage. When you bring your Ram 1500 to Pinckney CDJR for your oil change, our technicians will also inspect the battery and clean the terminal, inspect the brakes, check the engine cooling system and exhaust system and inspect your engine air cleaner for debris.

20,000 Miles

Every 20,000 miles, you’ll want to take care of a few core service items. First, inspect the front suspension and tie rod ends. You should also check the brake linings and replace them as necessary. Finally, replace the cabin air filter, especially if you take your Ram 1500 off-road.

30,000 Miles

Every 30,000 miles, your Ram 1500 will need the front and rear axle surfaces inspected. If you suspect a gear oil leakage, check the fluid levels or have one of  Pinckney CDJR’s technicians check them and top them off if needed. It is also a good idea to replace the engine air filter and inspect the CV/Universal joints.

60,000 Miles

In addition to completing your 20,000-mile and 30,000-mile services, there are a few more maintenance items you’ll want to do every 60,000 miles, such as inspecting the transfer case fluid. If you take your truck off-road or tow heavy loads with it, it is recommended that you change the transfer case fluid at this time.

100,000 Mile

Once your Ram 1500 reaches 100,000 miles, this service is an important one. This mile marker service should include everything from the 20,000-mile service and a few other items. Items like replacing the spark plugs and flushing and replacing your engine coolant. This must be done at ten years or no later than 150,000 miles. Also, replace your engine coolant if you haven’t already done so. Our technicians recommend having your truck’s PCV valve inspected and replaced if necessary. If your Ram 1500 is equipped with Engine Stop/Start technology, replace the accessory drive belt with an OEM-grade Mopar belt at this time.
